Exclamation Help get some funds for "Climate Crock of the Week"!

Hi Folks,

Peter Sinclair, aka greenman3610 is in the running to get some funds via Brighter Planet. I'm sure that all of you would like to see him win. You can vote three times until May 15 and if you are so inclined you can give all three votes to Climate Denial Crock of the Week!

Quote:
Peter Sinclair: "There's a great organization called Brighter Planet that runs a competition of worthy, climate related projects.

The project that can muster the most votes wins a 5000 dollar grant. That's a resource that can help debunk a lot more climate crocks.

You can vote here
http://brighterplanet.com/project_fund_projects/138

And watch the mildly entertaining and shamelessly self promoting video
announcement here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39FZKW2tS8o"
Peter Sinclair also recently did some shows on the internet channel ClimateTV where he has live conversations with the host, Kim Thee. Here is a link to the show from April 22

Cheers
Baerbel

Thanks for the votes! But more are needed! At the moment Peter is still in the lead (1041 votes) but others are gaining on him (837 and 708 votes respectively). We somehow have to keep him in the lead until May 15 when voting ends.

This wouldn't have been much of an issue when Manpollo was visited by many more people on a daily basis but now it will not be so easy. The best we can do is to share this far and wide and to keep this thread active so that it shows up with "new posts" whenever folks come by.

Update May 5, 7:10am (in Germany): the race is getting a lot closer with Peter still in the lead (1086 votes) but the "Belgrade High CARE project" is coming very close already (1019 votes).

Cheers
Baerbel

+3 votes, now 1284, and in second place.
In first place are the kids for "The Belgrade High CARE Project" (Call for the Advancement of Renewable Energies).

Thanks gazelle for your votes!

At the moment, Peter is still in second place (1510 votes) behind the school (1833 votes).

We need to find a way to circulate this more - even Joe Romm's posting about Peter's latest video and some commentators including me posting links to the voting didn't make the numbers go up quickly.

Not, that I wouldn't like the kids to get the money, I just think that Peter's videos have the bigger effect overall. Too bad that these two worthy projects are running against each other!

Cheers

Not sure what happened a short while ago, but votes for Peter Sinclair started to quite rapidly go up and he is now in the lead again with 1986 votes with the school project now at second place with 1951 votes.

Now I know what caused the rapid increase in votes for Peter! He sent this tweet:

Quote:
Climate Crocks is in the lead, after this great shout out from youtuber dprjones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY_S6GjZXb8
Peter currently leads with 2499 votes in front of the school-project with 2278 votes. Compared to earlier today, the school is gaining again as they had been almost 300 votes behind a while ago.

It's really interesting to watch this "race"!

Cheers

As of this posting, the school-project is in the lead again with 2654 votes - Peter is just 1(!) vote behind with 2653.

We need to spread this as far as wide as possible.....

Cheers

Thanks to all who voted for Peter Sinclair! I just received an email from Brighter Planet that Peter gets this month's grant of $5,000!!!

Quote:
We wanted you to know how much your vote mattered in this month's Project Fund election: with your support, greenman3610's project will become a reality!

With the seed money you and fellow voters have put in his/her hands, greenman3610 will begin work on "Climate Denial Crock of the Week":

http://brighterplanet.com/project_fund_projects/138

In coming months greenman3610 will be sending in photos, videos, and narratives describing the project's progress. We'll let you know when something really cool is posted.
Cheers
