SO I am having a debate on AGW and this guy's first response was this:

I believe we should not do anything at all right now because we don't even know if Global Warming is real or not so
1.We don't have the money since we America is in a recession and since we don't even know this is real because if we go into this full force spending billion of dollars (which will come from taxes most likely)and come to find out that Global Warming is not even real that will lead to economic crash in the U.S.
2.If the u.s. goes into an economic crash that will lead nuclear world war. The reason of that is because the u.s. is a superpower and if we have an economic crash other countries will jump all over us since we are a world power
3.If we get into a nuclear world war that will lead to extinction of the human race and i think we all can agree that if he human race becomes extinct that is pretty bad.

You can shut him down halfway through the first premise by reminding him that a green stimulus package, much like the one Obama's proposing, creates jobs that cannot be outsourced, saves energy, saves money, and saves lives (in that you need fewer troops, if any, in Faroffistan guarding oil pipelines, due to less use of foreign oil). Details of such programs abound worldwide, and they've worked almost every time. (In fact, you may note that several books detailing these, including Hot, Flat, and Crowded and The Green Collar Economy, are surprise New York Times bestsellers.)

And the economic crash is clearly tied to just the banks themselves, so no way to connect the dots, as it were, to anything other than that. I think we are past the *if* part. As oil works it's way down to the projected low of around $25ish a barrle. Arabs claim they need 70 to 80 a barrle just to break even on investments and future growth. So they are cutting back on production...
