Have you heard of 'story of stuff' it is a great 20 minute video that explains how we are using our resources, why it has to change, and then how we can change it. I have been having screenings of it at our library, you guys should watch it too. Story of Stuff (link) (Storyofstuff.com)

By the way, I was curious about some of the statistics used in the video so I did a little digging on her site. There is an annotated PDF (http://www.storyofstuff.com/pdfs/annie_leonard_footnoted_script.pdf) of the script that is quite helpful. Some of her citations are a bit weak, but at least it gives you an idea of her sources. It also expands a bit on the basics. I knew the production chain was devastating for the environment; I didn't realize how bad it is for the human beings that are being exploited. More reason to spend less and buy wiser.
