Hi,

I just saw the video "How It All Ends: The Manpollo Project" parts 1 and 2 on youtube. In part 2 wonderingmind42 puts forward the idea of a 'manpollo' project where our best experts will be put to the task of doing the analysis for the expanded grid he presented. Has this website not been setup to start a campaign to get such a project up and running? So far I've seen no talk of this happening. All discussions so far seem to start from the assumption that column A of the simple grid is the best course of action. It appears that the manpollo project is already over and all that needs to be done is to convince everyone that column A is the way to go. Haven't you guys jumped the gun here?

regards
Ray

I've seen some discussion here on the 'expanded grid;' no, I don't believe that even a first draft has yet been attempted. A start has been made.

I'm just a newbie here myself but it seems to me that this site hasn't been here very long at all. Internic Whois reports:

Domain Name:MANPOLLO.ORG
Created On:15-Oct-2007

I don't think it's very surprising to find that the first people here are going to be those already convinced.

We have to start somewhere...

Let's be honest, The Manpollo Project as stated in the video's is likely to be a little way off yet, and even if it were to be politically instituted tomorrow it may well be far beyond the time where the required numbers could be teased out of the woodwork by th worlds best scientists in time to avoid the all-evil tipping point that we must surely be heading for. unfortunately for us, politics is notoriously slow at getting anything off the ground quickly, so the project will not be instituted in the next day, most likely not the next week and probably not within the month!

But lets not be too pessimistic (sic), I suspect most of the numbers and probabilities are buried away in scientific papers and the various IPCC reports... so maybe there's hope yet!
